Vietnamese Hair Wash & Head Spa

Vietnam’s great sleeper treatment: 45–75 minutes of shampooing, scalp massage, face cleansing, neck-and-shoulder work, and a blowout — for roughly the price of a fancy coffee at home. There is no Western equivalent at any price.

What it costs

Ho Chi Minh City / Hanoi / Da Nang $6–15 full ritual
United States No true equivalent; head-spa salons charge $80–150

What to expect

Reclined at a wash basin for most of an hour: multiple shampoo rounds with sustained scalp massage, often a gentle face cleanse and mask, ear-area massage, then styling. Some salons add a 15-minute shoulder session in the chair. You will consider a second one before your trip ends.

Etiquette & modesty

Fully clothed, completely modest, and walk-in friendly. Salons are casual and often lively rather than hushed — this is everyday life, not a hushed spa. A 10–15% tip is appreciated.
