Foot Reflexology
A pressure-point massage of the feet and lower legs, taken to art-form status in Taiwan and available on nearly every commercial street in Asia. The most repeatable treatment on the circuit — many travelers end every sightseeing day with one.
What it costs
What to expect
You stay fully clothed in a recliner; only shoes and socks come off. A foot soak opens the session, then focused thumb-and-knuckle work on pressure zones. Traditional Taiwanese style can be genuinely intense — practitioners read tender points like a map. Lighter "relaxation" style is available everywhere.
Etiquette & modesty
The most casual treatment in Asia — walk-ins normal, conversation fine, phones tolerated. Wince honestly; pressure adjusts instantly. In Taiwan and Singapore no tip is expected; in Thailand and Vietnam a dollar or two is kind.
